The PLA Daily today carried an article stressing the importance of improving info-quality of servicemen.

According to the article, the future warfare is going to be multi-dimensional information-driven warfare, and this new concept first appeared towards the end of the 20th century.The article noted that as early as in the 1980s, the developed countries began to study how to improve the info-quality of their officers and men. In order to rise to the challenge of future warfare, the Chinese military must also pay close attention to this issue, the article said.

The article then stressed two key points for the acquirement of this capability: Firstly, the servicemen must not rest content with their knowledge in one special field, instead they should strive to be versatile in many fields, acquiring knowledge on military theories and high technologies, and technique, tactical performance and operation principle of the electronic-guided weapons, so as to turn themselves from experts in one field into versatile experts.

Secondly, the article said, servicemen should strive to enhance their capability in information acquisition technique, information transmission technology and information processing technology, and on this basis to improve their information control capability, information decision capability and information warfare capability.

The article called on the troops to have more digitalized training so as to bring about a change from "non-digital training " to "digital training", with focus on electronic warfare, network warfare and psychological warfare.

The article finally stressed that enhancement of info-quality of servicemen can only be achieved through hard study of modern science and technology, and called on the servicemen to engage in lifelong study so as to help bring the overall info-quality of our army to a higher level.
