Work has become meaningless as a way of survival in today's industrialized society, according to photos by Zhou Hai to be displayed at 798 Photo Gallery. In Zhou's eyes, work has to go on, as with life in a society where material wealth has become the only measurement for people. Workers have become unknowingly institutionized as a small and characterless part of a big machine after doing the same work on assembly lines year after year as a way to make a living. Ironically this has boxed them into a narrow, fixed space which makes it harder for them to fit into a fast-changing society. Time/date: 10am-6:30pm until July 15 Location: 4 Jiuxianqiao Lu Tel: 6438-1784 798百年印象攝影畫廊,酒仙橋路4號(hào) Meditation on existence This art exhibition mainly features recent art works from the famous 'artist' village in Songzhuang where about 300 artists live.
