160 hotline calls from 'wronged' man

A man has been subjected to a 15-day detention for making more than 160 calls
to the police hotline to avenge a "poorly handled" assault incident, reports
Shenzhen Commercial Daily.
Zhang was arrested after he called "110" three times in late September
claiming he had evidence of police officers taking bribes.
Police investigated but found he had made up the story. As it turned out,
Zhang had made more than 160 calls to the police hotline between May 25 and
September 23, including 144 harassment calls, three calls about policemen
conducting an illegal search, and one false fire alarm.
Zhang said he bore a grudge against the "110" hotline ever since May 25 when
he called to report that a truck hit his bicycle and the driver beat him in the
argument that ensued. The truck had fled by the time police arrived and never
was found.
Feeling that the police had neglected his case, Zhang made the numerous calls
to "110" to vent his anger, police said.
