Sacked Orlando Magic coach Doc Rivers had joined Thursday ABC Sports as an analyst on its top NBA announcing team.

Rivers, who was fired after the Magic fell to an NBA-worst 1-10 this season, found employment less than a week.

"Doc is absolutely the right fit for our NBA broadcast," said Michael Pearl, senior VIP and executive producer of ABC Sports. " He brings the experience of being a game analyst and his style is fresh and opinionated. We are thrilled that this worked out for us to be able to bring him onto our team."

Rivers will work with Al Michaels on a select number of regular- season and playoff games, as well as the NBA Finals. Their first game will be Houston at the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day.
