A woman has received the death sentence for murdering her husband in an attempt to gain 1.05 million yuan (US$126,860) in insurance claims, reports New Express News. Zeng, a resident of Guangzhou's Huadu District, was reported missing on January 6. His body and motorcycle were discovered in a fish pond a week later. Police interrogated Deng Xiuqiong, Zeng's wife and the beneficiary of his 1.05-million-yuan life insurance policy. She was found to have drugged her husband with sleeping pills before dumping his body and motorcycle into the pond with the help of a man named Mao Dinggao.
