Who better to promote the virtues of giving blood than a vampire?

At least, that's what a Sao Paulo city councilman thinks and that's why he wants to officially declare Aug. 13 Vampire Day, to coincide with a city-wide drive for blood donations.

"Our intention is to pay homage to a good vampire," city councilman Jose Laurindo de Oliveira told the newspaper Jornal da Tarde.

The campaign was started by actress and author Mariliz Marins, daughter of the B-movie horror film maker Jose Mojica Marins, better known as Coffin Joe.

Following in her father's footsteps, Mariliz has created her own alter ego, Lizvamp, who will serve as the campaign's poster girl.

The blood drive is set to begin Tuesday at Sao Paulo's Pro-Blood Foundation, the largest blood center in Latin America supplying 300 hospitals within city.

Mariliz hopes to tap in to a wave of vampire mania that will sweep across Brazil as the Rede Globo television network launches its latest soap opera, Kiss of the Vampire, on Aug. 26.

奧利韋拉對(duì)當(dāng)?shù)氐摹缎侣勎鐖?bào)》說："我們要以此向善良的吸血鬼致敬。"

這場(chǎng)獻(xiàn)血運(yùn)動(dòng)是由巴西著名的恐怖片女演員及作家Mariliz Marins發(fā)起的。她的父親是二流片(所謂B-movie) 恐怖電影制片人Jose Mojica Marins，人稱 "棺材·喬"。

Mariliz秉承父業(yè)，創(chuàng)造了自己的恐怖形像"吸血莉茲"。該形像將被作為這場(chǎng)獻(xiàn)血運(yùn)動(dòng)的海報(bào)女郎。

獻(xiàn)血活動(dòng)將于13日在拉美最大的獻(xiàn)血中心圣保羅獻(xiàn)血基金會(huì)開始。中心為該市的300家醫(yī)院供血。

Mariliz希望這場(chǎng)獻(xiàn)血運(yùn)動(dòng)能夠配合即將于8月26日在巴西環(huán)球電視臺(tái)公映的最新系列肥皂片《吸血鬼之吻》，在巴西掀起"吸血鬼熱"。
