Cooling jackets for Chinese athletes in Athens Games
The Chinese contingent for the upcoming Athens Olympic Games are to be "armed" to deal with the scorching days in Athens in August. They will wear specially made cooling jackets to ensure good performance. The jacket is made of cooling materials and heat-keeping gel. It can store coldness after being placed in refrigerator or icy water, and athletics will feel cool in it. Feng Lianshi, expert at the General Administration of Sports in charge of the research said that the jacket is toxin-free, able to ventilate, light and washing-easy, which frees athletics from feeling sticky or damp and can protect them against ultra violet radiation. Feng said, the jacket is suitable for athletics when during their warming-up or breaks, to preserve their energy under the heat. But it is better not to wear them for over 20 minutes and not during competitions. What is more amazing is that the jacket is capable of temperature adjusting. If it is too cold, the jacket can warm the athletic after being heated through microwave oven. |
