有一次，我們幾個(gè)同事在一起聊天，Joe 講了一個(gè)帶點(diǎn)黃色的笑話，其他人都大笑起來，只有我沒聽懂，只好說：“I don't get it.”誰知他們聽后爆發(fā)出更大的笑聲。Dalar 就說了一句“Her mind is not in the gutter”.我心想我的 mind 難道不是跟你們在一起的嗎？
原來“mind in the gutter”的意思是心思不良，心術(shù)不正。也就是說 Dalar 剛才是在幫我解釋，說我之所以沒聽懂 Joe 的笑話，是因?yàn)槲也粫袼麄円粯酉氲媚敲赐帷?br/>
因此如果想說某人心思不正，就可以說那人的“mind in the gutter”，讓他別那樣了就可以說“Get your mind out of the gutter.”雖然我笑話沒聽懂，但是學(xué)會了一個(gè)成語，也算是有所收獲。
