Chace Crawford has been arrested! The Texas native, 24, was visiting his hometown of Plano, TX June 3, when he was caught with about 2 ounces of marijuana in the parking lot of The Shops at Legacy, a shopping mall. A source said that Chace was, contrary to earlier reports, alone and sitting in the driver’s seat of a friend’s 2003 Nissan 350Z when an officer approached him during a routine check. “Chace was rolling a joint,” says our source. “He had a little under 2 ounces of marijuana in a plastic baggy sitting in clear view on the dashboard.”
A source tells us the 170 lbs., 5′11″ actor was “very polite and low key in a pair of jeans and flip flops and never identified himself.”
It is uncertain as to why Chace was in the driver’s seat of a female friend’s car but our source tells us, “The young woman’s keys were eventually returned to her after Chace had been arrested.”
In the state of Texas, possession of marijuana is considered a class B misdemeanor with a potential for up to 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $2,000. HollywoodLife.com spoke with Texas attorney Royce West who told us the actor would likely enter a plea for deferred adjudication, a form of probation in Texas that allows first time offenders to have their case dismissed after successful completion of their probation.
