Words and phrases
1. stray from=stay away
from（遠(yuǎn)離）；stray from有時(shí)候也可以作“走失”，例如：stray from one's group
離群走散。
2. not only……but……:
通常我們遇到這個(gè)詞組的時(shí)候，它是以not only……but
also……的形式出現(xiàn)。不過在英美國家，去掉also的形式出現(xiàn)的頻率更高。

這里的die不是指“死去”，而是借die這個(gè)詞來突出主人公的“憔悴”和“萎靡”
4. damn:
在英語中，人們常常用它來發(fā)泄心中的不滿。它可以是動詞，其意義為：

而在日常生活中，它被廣泛的用于口語中，意為“該死，討厭”，是一個(gè)語氣詞。例如：Damn
