Creator of mahjong tower seeks Guinness record

Updated: 2009-03-04 10:15 A villager hopes to make it into the Guinness World Records for using mahjongs to build a 3-m-high tower in Xiangtan county, Hunan province.
 It took more than a week for Peng Shuyan, a farmer from Yijiashan village of Jiangshe town, to construct the tower with 2,800 mahjongs. Peng, who has been practicing his skill of piling up mahjongs now for eight years, often do so in public to loud applause. He can also construct other types of buildings using mahjongs.
