In the Beijing Advanced Manufacturing Base, the brand new architecture complex will definitely attract visitors’ attention. The buildings belong to the Zhongguancun Emerging Industry Advanced Technology Research Institution. The buildings are able to contain 1,500 to 2,000 researchers.

The research institution is also equipped with an international convention center with approximately 5,600 square meters. The convention center is able to hold new product releasing ceremonies and global academic conferences.

The research institution also includes libraries, experience centers, swimming pools, and cafés. The apartments for experts and technological talents take up 38,500 square meters. The research institution has been completed and is being decorated. It is estimated that the buildings are able to be used in November, according to Zhou Wenhai, director of the administrative commission of the Beijing Advanced Manufacturing Base.

Zhou said that the research institution will be hand over to the Zhongguancun Development Group after completion. Taking charge of the operation of the research institution, the Zhongguancun Development Group will turn the research institution into an institution and enterprise research and development center with open laboratories, industrial incubators, accelerators, and supporting service institutions. The research institution is an important part of the Zhongguancun South Technology and Innovation City. The Fangshan District Government and the Zhongguancun Administrative Commission have reached agreement in building the Zhongguancun South Technology and Innovation City and have enacted a development proposal.

According to the proposal, the Zhongguancun South Technology and Innovation City will develop a pyramid shape advanced industrial structure. The research institution will serve as the top of the pyramid to attract leading talents in the industry. The innovative and entrepreneurship enterprises will serve as the body of the pyramid, which are the major driving force of the industry development. The Beijing Petrifaction and New Material Base and Beijing Advanced Manufacturing Base will be the base of the pyramid. The two one trillion yuan ($15.7 billion) level industrial leaders will guard the development of the advanced manufacturing.
