Abstract: In line with the overall requirements and strategic layout of the Central Government on ecological civilization construction, Shanghai municipality has, by following the guidance of the goal to cultivate an ecological city, actively explored the way to realize the value of its ecological products in step with the characteristics of a mega-city. By highlighting the design of ecological products, Shanghai has enhanced the quality of ecological products; by prioritizing the expansion of ecological value, Shanghai has vigorously developed the innovative model of “ecological Plus”; by putting the innovation of technological model in a more prominent place, Shanghai has channeled great energy into the development of ecological agricultural products; by emphasizing the construction of market mechanism and vitalizing the market dynamism for the realization of ecological products’ value, Shanghai has achieved remarkable progress and effects of the value realization of ecological products with distinctive characteristics. The enlightenments picked up from Shanghai’s experience for the reference of other areas are as follows. 1. Shanghai has attached great importance to the spatial cultivation of ecological products; 2. Shanghai has vigorously developed “ecology Plus industry” model; 3. Shanghai has continuously promoted the innovation of the realization of ecological material product value represented by ecological agricultural products; 3. Shanghai has stimulated the market vitality in realizing the ecological product value by establishing a green and open-oriented market mechanism.
