The Eco Forum Global Guiyang Symposium 2017 opened in Guiyang, Guizhou province, on June 17, in a bid to promote green development.

Held four times since 2013, this year's two-day event includes one main symposium and nine sub forums with a theme of ecofriendly development.
Attendees including top businesspeople, politicians, and academics from both home and abroad?participated in?the forum to discuss environmental issues.
The main symposium focused on discussing reforms to build an ecological civilization and how ecological civilization can benefit international cooperation along the Belt and Road.
Other topics to be discussed at the sub forums include protection of forests, food security, green campuses, and international cooperation on ecological civilization.
The forum is expected to encourage Guizhou province to use environmental resources effectively and to promote green development in the region.
