Dianshan Lake Forest Holiday Resort is located near Dianshan Lake in the southern city of Kunshan. Dianshan Lake covers an area of 64 square kilometers. The centre was approved as the provincial tourism resort in July 1994, and features a planning area of 12.38 square kilometers with 15 kilometers of shoreline and unique natural resources.

The centre is 30 kilometers away from Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone – and visitors can use the motorway. It is also located 23 km from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and 40 km from Suzhou city center.

In addition to its beautiful lake scenery, the region is also known for its thousand-year-old ginkgo tree that is called the "tree king of Jiangsu". The region also offers villas with splendid lake views, many different golf courses, as well as top international yacht and sailing clubs.

The 36-hole internationally known golf course, Xubao, is one of the largest and highest graded in East China. It was named one of China's "top ten golf courses", one of Asia's "twenty best courses", "the best hosting site" of the Asia tour, and it hosted the VOLVO China open tournament for seven consecutive years from 1999. The Dreaming Rhine Yacht Club offers facilities such as yacht sailing, water sports and barbecues, and venues for conferences and business meetings, celebrations, and it is also a sailing training centre certified by the Suzhou Maritime Bureau.
