Datong Economic and Technological Development Zone secured investment worth 35.07 billion yuan ($5.45 billion) May 29, a major step in the city's promotion of innovation and industrial upgrading.

Agreements for 24 projects involving the high-end equipment manufacturing, new material and modern service sectors were signed on the day.

Once completed and put into production, these projects are expected to deliver annual revenue of 43.4 billion yuan, with taxes of 7.52 billion yuan.
