A cab driver suspected of dropping a pregnant woman on her way to a hospital in Chongqing would be kicked out of the profession for life if his actions were confirmed, authorities said.

Seeing blood dripping from the woman's legs on Saturday, the driver forced her to get off immediately and drove away for fear that the blood would bring him bad luck.

With the help of some passers-by, an ambulance rushed her to a hospital where a baby boy was born soon after she reached a delivery room.
