Guandong Movie and TV Town is the only large-scale film and television production area in China to carry the styles of Northeast China at the beginning of the 20th century, with 177 buildings modeled after those of the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and early Republic of China periods.

Huangsi Temple Fair is host to a variety of activities showcasing yangko, a popular folk dance, and other distinctive cultural features of Northeast China.

China's first pedestrian street and one of the most patronized retail areas in Shenyang, Zhongjie Street has a 370-year history.

Shenyang’s Bagua Street is a newly developed district with cultural, commercial and creative features. Bagua Street's popularity stems largely from its curiously named roads and intentionally confusing layout that encourages visitors to wander.

The Old North Market (Beishichang) was one of China’s most popular traditional bazaars in the 1920s and 30s, and is home to many time-honored Shenyang brands.
