Medical imaging center opens in Shenyang

A new medical facility, Liaoning medical imaging center was established in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 27.

The center is expected to offer services such as imaging and diagnosis to people in Northeast China with its advanced imaging technologies, including remote diagnosis and cloud storage.

It is the first independent medical imaging center in the province.

According to National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, medical institutions have been permitted to outsource some of their medical services to third-party facilities, such as medical diagnostic imaging centers, since 2018.

On the same day, the second China medical imaging development forum was held in Shenyang.

A variety of people, including experts, investors, representatives from medical institutions and policymakers, participated in the forum and shared ideas about the future of third-party medical facilities.

Since the existing public institutions cannot meet current demand for medical imaging and pathologic diagnosis services, China has been introducing policies to help set up more privately-owned medical institutions in recent years.
