Summer theme tour 1: Escape the summer heat

Route 1

Guide: Morning -- Visit Hunhe River, the mother river of Shenyang, around which many ecological parks and recreational facilities have been constructed. Visitors can enjoy a magnificent ferry ride from Jinshuiwan Wharf with panoramic views of both banks.

Afternoon -- Visit Shenshuiwan Park for the natural wetland and urban forest. The park is divided into three zones: natural scenery, culture and leisure, and fitness and entertainment.

Evening -- Savor barbecue and beers with local people in sidewalk snack booths, enjoying the debonaire spirit in the air during summertime. Then go to Yunyang Pavilion and see its main pavilion and four small ones. It is not only a tourist attraction, but also an outdoor activity space for both tourists and the city’s residents, serving as a stage for professional performances, such as the Hunhe River Symphony Music Festival and the Summer Culture and Art Festival in Shenyang.

Route 2

Guide: All day -- Visit Qipan Mountain Scenic Area, a national 4A scenic spot containing 203 square kilometers of planning area and 76 sq km of forests. Integrating scenic tourism, recreational activities, commercial conferences and exhibitions, it is Shenyang’s largest natural scenic spot and is known as the city’s green lung. Other scenic spots inside here include the mysterious ancient Xiangyang Temple, Guandong Movie & TV Town, and Shenyang Forest Zoological Garden.

Noon -- Have a picnic in the park or have lunch at a restaurant inside the scenic area.

Evening -- Savor northeastern Chinese cuisine at Huaxia Folk Village, located just outside the scenic area. A village with typical northeastern Chinese elements, you can see things like the heatable brick bed kang, which is commonly used in the area.
