The 6th Chinese Ballad Contest is set to take place on Wudang Mountain, in Hubei province on Sept 7, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the provincial government.
As an old Chinese saying goes,"Food is the paramount necessity of the people." After appreciating ancient buildings, mysterious Taoism culture and Wushu, a tour of Wudang Mountain would still be incomplete without a taste of the genuine Taoist vegetarian food.
On the morning of April 13, a group of seven people began their journey with their beloved bicycles. The woman who gathered the group, surnamed Yang, lifted her bike to the top of the mountain.
The price of entrance tickets to Golden Hall on Wudang Mountain will increase from 20 yuan to 27/30 yuan. The city price bureau held a hearing at the Wudang Mountain hotel, the afternoon of July 18, 2012, to discuss the price adjustment, where 17 representatives expressed their opinion on the matter. The final decision will be made by provincial authorities.

The television documentary Harmony (Taihe) of Wudang, recorded by Wudang administration committee and the Central Newsreels and Documentary Film Studio, finished shooting in Wudang Mountain on June 10 with 1,000,000 yuan’s worth ($158,000) of investment.
To commemorate the 600th anniversary of Wudang Mountain, the National Exhibition of Paintings on Wudang is to be held by the China Arts Association, Shiyan municipal publicity department, and the Wudang Mountain administration committee in October. The exhibition is calling for works to be submitted from now to Sept 10.
More than 100,000 Chinese orphans or children with disabilities have been adopted by families from overseas, according to China's Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption.
