Members of the Shui ethnic group live in Sandu Shui Autonomous County, and also in the counties of Libo, Dushan and Duyun , in Guizhou province. The group has its own language and script, known as the Shui script which is similar to ancient inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells - and which recorded their thoughts about astronomy, geography, religion, customs, ethics and philosophy.
