Global Innovation Summit opens at Zhongguancun

The Global Innovation Summit 2016, as well as the Zhongguancun Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival opened on Oct 12 at the Zhongguancun Science Park in Beijing.

The summit focused on global innovative ability and invited several leading figures of top world enterprises to discuss global technological and innovative modes and current trends.

Sheng Yanlin, deputy director of the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Ministry of Science and Technology, said countries around the world regard science and technology as the core of innovative development and stress global collaborative innovation and open development.

He mentioned that the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center has been devoted to promoting the development of national high-tech zone and high-technological enterprise incubation in China and hopes to have opportunities to develop further relationships with other internationally leading science parks, high-tech enterprises and entrepreneurial service institutes.

At the opening ceremony, Hong Xiaowen, a senior vice president of Microsoft Corporation, introduced some of the company’s newly invented artificial intelligent products and expressed his willingness to cooperate with innovative enterprises in China.

In a round table dialogue invited guests discussed global innovative abilities in different regions, disruptive innovation trends, China's special innovation methods and China's ways of promoting innovative cooperation with the rest of the world.

The 10-day event consists of activities such as an innovation summit, a forum salon and a roadshow competition.

The Global Innovation Summit 2016, sponsored by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, and the government of Haidian District of Beijing, is an important part of the Zhongguancun Innovation and Entrepreneurship Festival.
