Media briefing on forums and events during CISMEF 2017 held in Guangzhou

On Sept 21, the media briefing on forums and events for the 14th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) was held in Guangzhou.

Guests present at the briefing included He Zuoxian, deputy director-general of the Guangdong SME Bureau, as well as representatives of forum and event organizers.

As an international service platform for Chinese and foreign SMEs to attract capital, technologies and intelligence, CISMEF will deliver a wide variety of events rich in content and with actual effects, including six key forums and events (China SME Summit, SME Cross-border Matchmaking Activity, 2017 "Maker in China" Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, the second Asia-Europe Seminar on SME Financing , 2017 Specific Action of the "Belt and Road" Guangdong Tour - Waking into Africa Activities and SME Informatization Application Promotion Activity and Informatization Forum). More than 40 specialized and supporting forums and events, as well as eight overseas exhibition groups promotion events, he noted.

Focusing on the hot issues of SME development with the purpose of promoting international exchanges and cooperation, and achieving win-win results, the events and forums will promote national macroeconomic policies, discuss national development strategies including supply-side structural reform strategy, innovation-driven development strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative.

The events will also discuss new issues such as comprehensively deepening reform and accelerating the establishment of an "open new economic system", helping SMEs learn about economic trends, address transformation and development problems and break reform and innovation bottleneck.

Additionally, the events will guide enterprises in, innovating, reforming and developing healthily, organizing and mobilizing social forces to support SME development and practically serve enterprises, pay attention to the actual effects of events, and help SMEs achieve breakthroughs in innovation and develop markets in the aspects of technology, idea and management.

The 2017 CISMEF is themed on "Intelligence, Wisdom, Smart Manufacturing, Energy Conservation", and hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, the State Administration for Industry & Commerce, the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Department of Small Business Development of South Africa and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

There will be 6,000 international standard booths, and a total exhibition area of 150,000 square meters. International theme exhibitions and domestic theme exhibitions will be held at Poly World Trade Center Expo from Oct 10 to 13; Intelligent Manufacturing & "Internet+" Exhibition, Intelligent Building and Smart Home Exhibition, and Energy Conservation Exhibition will be held at the Guangdong Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center from Oct 12 to 15 and from Oct 20 to 23.
