From October 23 to 26, the 72nd China International Medical Equipment Fair (autumn session) and 19th China International Component Manufacturing & Design Show (autumn session) were held in Chongqing's International Expo Center.

This is the first time for Chongqing to host this event, which is expected to boost the rapid development of the medical device industry in southwest China.

The China International Medicinal Equipment Fair (CMEF), founded in 1979, is held twice a year - spring and autumn. After 30 years of continuous innovation and self-improvement, CMEF has become the largest exhibition of medical equipment, related products and services in the Asia-Pacific region.

The exhibition widely covers ten thousands of products such as medical imaging, "in vitro" diagnosis, electronics, optics, first aid, rehabilitation nursing, medical information technology and outsourcing services, and it provides services to the entire medical industry chain from the source to the end of the medical equipment industry in a direct and all-round way.

Themed "creative technology, innovative medical treatments", the Fair attracted 2,800 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions worldwide, who demonstrated the latest technological achievements and innovative products in the field of medical technology. It also attracted 80,000 professional visitors from more than 140 countries to attend.

During the Fair, more than 60 academic conferences were hosted and more than 300 speakers delivered speeches. Topics covered the whole industry chain – for example, production, study and research, which was an academic feast for health industrial management and practitioners.

As the Asia-Pacific region's largest exhibition of medical equipment and related services, the 130,0000-square-meter exhibition area for this session reached a record high. The exhibition displayed over 10,000 products in 40 categories, including medical imaging, "in vitro" diagnostics, medical electronics, medical optics, operating room and first aid, rehabilitation, medical information technology, medical supplies, orthopedics, hospital equipment and outsourcing services.

Industry leaders like GE, Siemens, Philips, Xinhua, Mindray, Neusoft, China Resources Wandong, Rayco, Yuyue, and Anke all set up booths. In addition, eight countries including the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea put together delegations to attend the Fair which greatly enhanced the internationalization level of the exhibition as well as bringing advanced medical technologies and the latest international products into the domestic market.

During the Fair, 60 high-end academic forums provided a great opportunity for participants to exchange information, upgrade their skills, and explore market trends.

The 19th China International Component Manufacturing & Design Show（ICMD 2014 autumn session）was again hosted with CMEF during the same period and the exhibition area reached 5,000 sq meters.

The technological innovations at the medical equipment customized service forum provided a platform for deep communication between device manufacturers and OEM suppliers.

This session again provided free WIFI within the center, following the success of the CMEF spring session which sped up the entries for visitors who registered via wechat.

In addition, the CMEF Conference Organizing Committee provided free subway tickets to visitors.
