China Open 2009 will be upgraded to Asia's top tennis tournament and become the only one in Asia which includes men’s, women’s and junior’s events. The bonus will be up to 6,600,000 U.S. dollars, which makes China Open equal the well-known Indian Wells Tournament, Miami Ericsson Open and Madrid Open. Besides, women’s event of China Open will become one of the four "crown jewel” tournaments which is top tier in the Tour.

Beijing outbid Dubai, Tokyo and Bangkok to become one of just four cities to host the elite event, which makes it mandatory for the world's top 50 female players. The top 10 players will be subject to severe penalties if they withdraw without good reason.

As a result, big names like William Sisters, Safina, Jankovic,Sharapova and Ivanovic might be on the China Open 2009 list. Besides watching the matches, people can also enjoy lots of tennis games, special caterings and offerings and other leisure activities.
