Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa at the news conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles July 18, 2003. Bryant said "'I'm innocent. I didn't force her to do anything against her will. I'm innocent." Bryant was charged with felony sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in a hotel near Vail, Colorado.
