Almost all brides go to great lengths to make sure their wedding is exactly the way they dreamed. So the job of a wedding planner is to capture the vision of their dream wedding down to the last detail. And brides are open to new ideas.

So what is in style for a wedding in 2013? Here are the insights of several wedding planners on the latest trends in Beijing.

"Couples are now trying to spend more money on personalizing the individual details of the reception, rather than on accommodates large groups," said Randy De, the Deputy General Manager of Kuntai Hotel Beijing.

One example of a personal touch: Kuntai has a custom car elevator directly attached to the 1600-square-meter banquet hall, which means the chauffeur can literally drive the bridal car straight to the center stage - the ultimate option for any bride who is determined to keep her wedding gown hidden from view until the last minute.

The menu for the banquet also offers couples a way to showcase something relatively personal. Instead of a traditional and formal meal, more couples are asking for a buffet with hot and cold options, and perhaps with a special sushi stand or dessert selection. "Couples are now more and more focusing on food they love and want to share with their guests, for an intimate feel," said De.

"The regional delicacies of the couple have also made a comeback - either as part of the dinner or as snacks at the reception - the authenticity of these kinds of snacks makes a real statement." said a coordinator with the Zishuyishu bespoke wedding company.
