Traffic police in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, are encouraging people to capture and report traffic violation via a police WeChat account from March 1, a new measure aimed at deterring traffic violations
People can follow the official police WeChat account and send photos or videos of traffic violations along with necessary information, such as date, time and location.
Those who report the violations will be rewarded money ranging from 20 yuan ($3) to 500 yuan with a maximum total of 4,000 yuan a month.
The practice is expected to ease the shortage of police officers and improve the urban administration.
