US politicians' scheme puts people's lives at stake

As the COVID-19 situation in the United States gets more serious, some US politicians have started raising their voices, blaming China and demanding compensation from China.

Based on neither fact nor law, such a political farce lacks morality and justice completely, and is subject to universal ridicule.

China's performance in tackling COVID-19 has won recognition around the world, which believes that the swiftness and scale of China's efforts are rarely seen in the world, and that the Chinese people have made a huge sacrifice to obtain progress in their fight against the virus.

China has implemented its duty fully, effectively and in a timely way, as prescribed in the International Health Regulations, which is beyond reproach.

Also, according to the principle of sovereign equality in international law, US courts should not and cannot exercise their jurisdiction over the acts of sovereignty that governments at various levels in China conduct to control the pandemic.

The US politicians have blasphemed law, smeared justice and distorted truth by trying to hold China accountable and ask for reparations from China. Such behavior will only lead to endless trouble for all countries and humanity.
