Beijing condemns US visa restrictions

Beijing on Monday urged Washington to correct its mistakes in tightening visa guidelines against Chinese journalists immediately, or it will face countermeasures.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian strongly opposed the move, saying Washington escalating political suppression on Chinese media will disrupt their normal reporting in the US and affect bilateral people-to-people exchanges.
