China firm in safeguarding national sovereignty, security: FM spokesperson

BEIJING - China is above-board and open. It also has sufficient determination and ability to resolutely defend its national sovereignty and security, and safeguard its interests and dignity, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Friday.

Spokesperson Hua Chunying made the remarks at a press briefing after a video was presented to reporters.

The video shows Lawrence Wilkerson, chief of staff of former US Secretary of State Colin Powell, speaking about the three purposes of the US military stationed in Afghanistan. One stated purpose is the containment of China.
