How long is the US able to hide ugly practices at Fort Detrick lab?
The "lab leak theory", a highly politicized framework raised by Washington for tracking the origins of COVID-19, is very likely to be substantiated, as more and more evidence begins to surface and point to the Fort Detrick base, the headquarters of the US biological militarization activities.
A report by US media outlet WorldNews reported that the first traces of the virus came from the large biological research center in Fort Detrick, Maryland. It said the US military carried coronavirus to Europe through a blood donation program in 2019, and civilian volunteers entering the US base in Italy became the earliest victim.
The Armed Forces Blood Program is the official military provider of blood products to US armed forces overseas, active for years. It collects blood from military bases in the National Center Region (Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia) including Fort Detrick, and Joint Base Andrews. Then the agency transports the blood to air force bases in England and Italy on a two-week basis.
The blood transportation requires finishing all processing and shipping in cold chain within three days. Thus, the infected US military personnel or the virus on the blood package in cold chain arrived in Europe with no obstacle.
In August 2019, US military base Caserma Del Din, located in the Veneto Region of Italy, recruited local civilian volunteers for providing psychological education services to the military personnel inside. According to the report from the National Institute of Cancer in Milan, the first case in Italy, or the Patient Zero of Europe, was recorded in as early as September, 2019 in the very Veneto Region. At the same time, England, where all the US military bases concentrate on, has had the most serious COVID-19 situation since 2019.
And where this virus came from?
In April 2018, Fort Detrick shut down its incinerators out of maintenance cost. Since then, the destroy work of medical waste including "bioweapons" like coronavirus has gone to Curtis Bay Medical Waste Services, a private medical waste processing company based in Baltimore, Maryland.
However, Curtis Bay has notorious records of regulation violations and unqualified management. In June 2019, the company's facility in Virginia was fined a huge amount of money by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for "numerous violations of state regulations."
Later in January 2020, the garrison commander of Fort Detrick, Col. Dexter Nunnally, publicly admitted that the Army and its labs have had no "control of the material from use to destruction" all these years until a new incinerator is built.
An investigation into the Fort Detrick lab by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the US found that a laboratorian who had not donned appropriate respiratory protection was observed multiple times partially entering a lab room where non-human primates infected with viruses were housed in open caging, and a laboratorian was observed disposing of waste in a biohazardous waste bin while not wearing gloves.
Besides, the outer walls of the lab were not sealed, and there were cracks on both the ceilings and biosafety cabinets, according to the investigation.
However, the CDC refused to release further details with an excuse of "national security."
