'Super power bank' on Zhejiang mudflat officially goes into use

Recently, Yueqing Bay Shared Energy Storage Power Station, the first batch of new energy storage demonstration projects in the 14th Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang province, has been put into operation, which is expected to increase clean energy consumption by 580 million kWh and reduce carbon emissions by 321,000 tons per year.

The power station is the first mudflat shared energy storage power station in Zhejiang province. It is located in the outer sea area of Wengle Reclamation in Yueqing city, covering an area of about 30 mu (2 hectares) and about 800 meters away from the coastal embankment. From the dam to the beach, the cool sea breeze blows. Along the way, there are fish and birds in the mudflat. Through the 800 meter long iron bridge, this "super power bank" is quietly "stationed" on the beautiful coast.

The person in charge of State Grid Wenzhou Power Supply Company introduced that the planned total scale of the power station is 220 MW/440 MWh, and the first phase of grid connected capacity is 52.8 MW/107.48 MWh. The power station adopts the lithium iron phosphate battery technology, and a total of 21 energy storage battery cabinets are installed. The power station is like a "super power bank", which can store 100,000 kilowatt hours of electricity at a time of "charging", and can meet the power demand of about 15,000 households in a day at the same time. It is estimated that 440,000 kilowatt hours of electricity can be stored after completion, and 88 energy storage battery cabinets are planned to be installed in the long term.

In addition, as one of the new energy storage scenario demonstration projects in the "ten landmark projects" of the new power system of the State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company, the core component of the Fanleqing Bay multi energy storage development and construction demonstration project has the ability to release power at peak load and store power at low load. It has a variety of functions such as peak load regulation, frequency modulation, black start, etc.
