Industrial park aims to integrate ecological responsibility into development

The Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), a venture jointly developed by Chinese and Indonesian investors, is trying to promote harmony between industrial progress and natural ecosystems, upholding a principle of sustainable growth.

IMIP — which is based in Central Sulawesi Province in Indonesia — said it aims to integrate ecological responsibility into every aspect of industrial development, helping build a green and sustainable future.

On April 25, at the Santika Hotel in Palu, the Indonesian government held an award ceremony for corporate environmental performance certification, during which 20 companies from IMIP received the Blue Environmental Certification.

IMIP-based enterprises, such as Indonesia Tsingshan Stainless Steel, Indonesia Guang Ching Nickel and Stainless Steel Industry, Walsin Nickel Industrial Indonesia, Dexin Steel Indonesia, Huayue Nickel Cobalt and QMB New Energy Materials, won the honor, which marks a significant milestone in IMIP's progress in environmental governance.

At the award ceremony, Anwar Hafid, governor of Central Sulawesi Province, stated that environmental protection requires joint efforts from both enterprises and the government, expressing his hope that the awarded companies would continue to comply with environmental laws and regulations, actively fulfill their social responsibilities in environmental protection, and promote sustainable development.
