Chinese printing industry witnesses new technological breakthroughs

Chinese printing equipment manufacturers are bolstering technological breakthroughs and scenario-based application capabilities, significantly boosting the localization of China's printing industry, and offering intelligent and green innovative solutions to customers at home and abroad.

In Beijing, the 73-year-old Beiren Intelligent Equipment Technology Co Ltd released three new models of web offset printing presses — B3000L MAX, 50A and DB3000, to meet clients' growing demand for intelligent production.

On May 16, over 400 guests from the printing industry nationwide attended the new product launch event — a dual-venue presentation at both Beijing Xinhua Printing Co Ltd and Beiren Intelligent's factory.

Zhang Jin, Party secretary and chairman of Beijing Xinhua Printing Co Ltd — which has bought the BEIREN B3000L MAX web offset commercial rotary printing press, said Beiren Intelligent has made significant breakthroughs in technological research and development, as well as product iteration in recent years.

"The web offset commercial rotary printing press showcased today at Beijing Xinhua Printing meets the market demand for high-quality printing, instilling greater confidence in users regarding domestically produced equipment," he said.

Within the printing workshop, the B3000L MAX operated at high speed with remarkable stability, fully demonstrating the reliability and adaptability of domestically produced commercial rotary printing presses in complex printing scenarios.

All three models launched by Beiren Intelligent are based on its independent research and development, offering customized solutions tailored to different printing needs.

Equipped with two splices, eight printing units and one folder, the BEIREN DB3000 can simultaneously print and fold quarto-sized four-color double booklets at a high speed of 40,000 signatures per hour, effectively doubling production efficiency, while the BEIREN B3000L MAX is designed to meet the continuous production needs of large-format printing on a variety of paper types, including offset paper, coated paper and art paper. In addition, the BEIREN 50A features a small-cylinder, high-speed and multi-paper-path design.

Chen Bangshe, Party secretary and chairman of Beiren Intelligent, stated that his company has actively explored cutting-edge technologies in the industry, developing a full range of next-generation book and periodical printing machines.

At the demonstration center at Beiren Intelligent's factory, visitors viewed two other newly launched devices — the BEIREN DB3000 web offset commercial rotary printing press and the BEIREN 50A web offset newspaper printing press.

While watching the comprehensive operational demonstrations of the new equipment, visitors engaged in impassioned discussions about the innovative explorations of domestically produced commercial rotary printing devices, speaking highly of Beiren Intelligent's efforts in technological innovation and product development.

Li Yanfeng, deputy Party secretary and general manager of Beiren Intelligent, stressed that in recent years, Beiren Intelligent has input an R&D investment of over 70 million yuan ($9.85 million), focusing on one thing — producing high-quality products.

Han Dongxu, deputy general manager of Beiren Intelligent, added that these new products have achieved performance parity with international brands, offering printing enterprises solutions that combine market competitiveness with cost-effectiveness, thereby assisting customers in further enhancing their production efficiency and market expansion capabilities.
