Death toll rises to four in Guangxi landslide
Rescuers found another body in a downstream riverbed on Saturday afternoon following the Friday flash flood and mudslide that struck Sanshe village in Longsheng county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, China Central Television reported.
The discovery brought the confirmed death toll to four after three individuals were found with no signs of life on Friday.
The disaster occurred at around 5 am on Friday, leaving eight people unaccounted for, three injured and 10 houses destroyed.
Local authorities launched an emergency response immediately after the disaster, establishing a rescue command center and six working groups focused on coordination, on-site rescue, flood monitoring and other key tasks. Efforts are also underway to prevent secondary disasters as rescue operations continue.
