Beijing's Tongzhou Railway Station to open Dec 30
Beijing's Tongzhou Railway Station, located in the sub-center complex transport hub in the capital's eastern Tongzhou district, will go into operation on Dec 30, China Central Television reported on Friday.
With five floors, the station features convenient transfers as well as municipal administration and public service functions, including railway, rail traffic, bus, and shuttle services, said Zhao Yinming, an official of the Beijing Major Railway Station Areas Administration.
According to the plan, the hub will gradually open and improve its functional layout in phases. On the first day of operation, the Beijing-Tangshan and Beijing-Tianjin intercity railways will begin running. They will connect stations including Tangshan, Qinhuangdao, Xianghe, Dachang, and Yanjiao in Hebei province, and Beichen in Tianjin.
The passenger flow volume and transport capability will be adjusted according to passenger demand, the report added.
