China selects 533 academy candidates

BEIJING - The Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE) announced Friday that it has selected 533 candidates for membership, with an average age of 55.78 years.
The CAE warned against election fraud in an open letter, requesting strict observance of the rules strictly to create a fair and clean environment for the selection.
CAE members, called "academicians" in China, hold the highest title in the field of engineering. It is a lifelong honor. New members are recruited every two years.
In 2015, 70 prominent scientists were made CAE members.
